umrabadal.com exists for one purpose: to perform Umrah, in person, in Masjid al-Haram, on behalf of those who cannot perform it themselves.

This site is operated by a small team based in Makkah. Several of us are students of knowledge, including students connected to Dar Ul Hadith. We have completed our own Umrah many times, as required by the majority of scholars before performing it on behalf of another.

How we work

When a family books an Umrah Badal through this site, the named individual is recorded. A member of our team enters the state of Ihram with that name held clearly in the intention, performs the full Umrah, Tawaf, Sa’i, and Taqsir, and the reward is dedicated to the named person. Video of the Tawaf in Masjid al-Haram is sent to the family by email after completion. We complete bookings within three to seven days.

Shariah review

The Islamic content on this site, including rulings on permissibility, conditions, and the scope of who Umrah Badal may be performed for, is reviewed by Shaykh Abu Bakar Mukhtar. Shaykh Abu Bakar is a graduate of Shariah from Dar Ul Hadith Makkiyah and has studied under named scholars including Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan, Shaykh Saad al-Shathri, and others. The conditions we follow are those laid out across the Hanafi, Shafi’i, and Hanbali schools. For families following the Maliki school, the position is more specific, and we recommend consulting a trusted local scholar before booking.

Why we exist

A mother who spoke about Makkah her whole life but never made it. A father whose health gave out before he could travel. A grandparent who passed before the chance arrived. These are the families who write to us.

The Umrah Badal performed through this site is not a product. It is an act of worship, completed in the holiest place on earth, with sincere intention dedicated to a named person whose family loves them enough to arrange this for them. We try to handle each booking with the care that act deserves.
